How to Play
Shapes Sudoku is a gentle take on the classic 9x9 grid. In its current form the board is played with the numbers 1 to 9: fill every row, every column and every 3x3 box so that each digit appears exactly once, with no repeats anywhere. Empty cells are the puzzle; the givens are your starting clues.
We are being straight with you here. Although the game is named for shapes, the embed you play today uses numbers, and a proper symbol-and-shapes edition is still in the works. Tips & Tricks
- Scan for rows, columns or boxes that are already nearly full, where only one number can fit.
- Work from the clue-rich areas outward rather than guessing in the emptiest corner.
- When a cell has two candidates, note both mentally and return once a neighbour is solved.

Not yet. The version live today is played with the numbers 1 to 9, exactly like classic sudoku. A dedicated shapes and symbols edition is planned and will replace this interim board when it is ready.
